Please describe the progress you have made on alcohol labelling, over the last year (2000 characters limit):
Accolade Wines believes that it is important for consumers to have appropriate information to enable them to make responsible choices about alcohol consumption. In the UK, we are pleased to support the Chief Medical Officer’s current advice with the inclusion of the following information on the labels of our products: units, CMO guidelines, the pregnancy pictogram, a responsible drinking message and the Drinkaware website address.
As many of our wines are supplied to EU export markets as well as the UK we have implemented a systematic programme for label changes. As of 31 March 2015 we can report that we are compliant on all five areas of information across 92% of our total portfolio. This is a significant increase from the April 2014 update and is due to the installation of a new state-of-the-art laser labelling machine at our Accolade Park facility near Bristol, as flagged last year. This machine has allowed us to have much greater flexibility, meaning that we can better cater for labelling within the UK market.
