Please describe the programme you have in place:
Since signing up to this pledge in August 2014, we have undertaken a wellbeing strategy pilot, the ‘Food for Thought Nutritional Campaign.’ This was aimed at increasing awareness of health and wellbeing throughout the company both in office and on-site levels. We became national partners to Change4life in order to gain a better understanding of health and wellbeing, via having access to both information and resources, which were used within our campaign.
To this gain we have found that the campaign has been successful within the static premises and at on-site level we estimate that we have had a 70% uptake. To this end we are looking to further enhance the initiative by piloting bi-monthly posters/newsletters as a promotion campaign.
We developed a ‘reporting health and well-being programme’ which will encompasses our HR department annually reporting sickness rates which will allow analysis to be undertaken, discussed and then will further be conveyed in this annual report in the furure. These will help us monitor whether our wellbeing programs are working and whether they need to be improved.
We have subsequently reviewed and updated a number of our SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) policies to reflect the requirement of Occupational Health and are currently looking to set up a strategic partnership with a recognised Occupational Health provider to give support across the business
As we recognise that we play a vital role in improving our employees’, along with members of our supply chain, health and wellbeing, we have used awareness, which includes a Contractors Awareness day, to improve their habits in; food, drink, occupational health and physical activity; allowing them to make healthier choices. This is all done through messages which are consistent with Government public health advice.
