1 January, 2013
Submitted: 27 April, 2015
Please decribe how you and your caterers have encouraged healthier restaurants/vending outlet/buffets (as applicable) for your staff over the last year. There is a 2000-character limit when completing this section.
As well as continuing to reduce fat and salt in the meals Compass have reviewed the salad and fruit bar offer at all sites to make it fresher and more inviting, and have introduced salads into smaller sites that did not previously sell them.
Within the monthly retail promotions, they are promoting a minimum of 40% healthier products, as defined by their dedicated team of nutritionists to make sure the consumer always has the option to choose a healthier product.
In order to continue to put health and wellbeing at the very heart of their offer to BT, Compass have developed the Know Your Food programme. This is a unique initiative that is dedicated to promoting and improving health, wellbeing and sustainable sourcing by introducing a web site to complement the Know Your Food board that is set up in all BT sites. It provides customers with educational material on nutrition, sourcing and seasonality so that they are able to make an informed choice about what they would like to consume.
Similarly, nutritional labeling is displayed in the form of reference intakes and allergen information is available for all products sold if required.
To encourage healthier options the intention is to make healthier meal options more accessible through the use of specific promotions and incentives.
