H1. Chronic Conditions Guide and Carers

Our annual Wellbeing Day was held in February and supported Parliament’s commitment to the PHRD.
The event was very well attended and raised awareness of the services available to those working on the parliamentary estate and offered opportunities for staff to improve their health and wellbeing at work.
Various stakeholders were invited to attend, including Local NHS stop smoking services, Diabetes UK, London Mutual Credit Union and The Charity for Civil Servants. The event also raised the profile of the in-House Health and Wellbeing Team, whose expertise was used on the day to give advice and support to staff with any health concerns or issues, as well as offering a mini health screen.
Our proactive approach to the wellbeing of our staff will continue to be underpinned by strong HR policies and management procedures for absence management, including the management of chronic ill health & rehabilitation procedures. Healthy lifestyles will be promoted through health surveillance and wellness checks.
