P4. Physical Activity in the Workplace

Through your physical activity pledges you will be working with employees, customers/consumers and/or local communities. For each group (as applicable) please describe the specific activities or projects you have undertaken over the past year.
For example, employee incentive schemes to promote physical activity, awareness raising activities or improvements to facilites to promote active travel.
FDF supports staff to take exercise and promotes their wellbeing through its Gym and Exercise Subsidy (offered after completion of the probationary period). All staff are offered a biannual heath screen irrespective of length of service.
FDFu2019s Feel Good For Life Group actively promotes a range of activities, including yoga and tai-chi. Activities are promoted to staff by members of the Feel Good For Life Group, verbally and using the staff intranet.
Our feel good for life group u2018championsu2019 actively promote our physical activity schemes internally, with a calendar of active events over the year, along with ad hoc activities. Over the past year the Feel Good for Life team have refreshed the range of activities offered to include walking challenges, yoga classes and a tai chi course, with other events planned for the forthcoming year.
Additionally FDF aims to encourage staff to travel actively around the office building, and within Q1 of 2015 have created posters using StepJockey.com to encourage staff to use the stairs instead of the lift where possible. Posters have been placed on each floor of the building, and these provide an indication of the number of steps climbed against the number of calories burnt.
For example, supporting/sponsoring local physical activity programmes, promoting physical activity to customers through website campaigns or in-store materials.
