During the year, we have been delighted with the level of employee engagement and the individual success stories of those who have embraced what it has to offer.
Our co-ordinator uses a network of wellbeing ambassadors in the business to extend the programme across the UK and internationally. The success of this programme internally, has enabled us to collaborate on client programmes and engage further with our supply chain.
Physical health, mental wellbeing, healthy eating, active living, coping with change, safety at work and changing lifestyle and habits are all important topics, which have featured across the year.
Campaigns include access to webinars, fact sheets, and signposting to relevant websites, poster campaigns and informative articles and bulletins. In some instances, activities aligned to the topic have been used to encourage engagement. Examples include our healthy eating workshops, described as “informative and valuable”. These were run by a Nutritional Therapist, where individuals could find out their virtual age by taking part in a body composition analysis.
We have done some mini health assessments and more will follow in the future. We have supported individuals with quitting smoking, provided cycle safety awareness training to promote exercise and carbon reduction from transport emissions and have raised awareness about mental health issues with a view to changing perceptions.
Aligned to our Health and Wellbeing Programme is our Employee Assistance Programme offering three strands of support: Advice for Line Managers, confidential support with any of life’s challenges and access to many lifestyle and wellbeing resources.
Our aim to support employees in making healthier lifestyle choices by raising awareness of important topics is being realised. We will continue to develop the programme and are committed to supporting our workforce and safeguarding their health and happiness.
