Lovell has seen some positive changes over the last year. For example, the average number of days per annum taken off for sickness declined from 4.7 to 2.4 days. We believe this was in part due to the health and wellbeing programmes we have put in place.
Throughout 2014 a health and well-being campaign was hosted on the Lovell intranet. On alternate months a health topic was explored providing information and advice. It also provided a link to our company ‘Employee Assistance Programme’ which we have set up with a health provider. The programme provides information, leaflets, facts and a helpline to our employees. Topic areas covered in 2014 included stress, alcohol abuse, smoking, mental illness and cancer.
We also worked closely with an occupational health provider who has been conducting health surveillance, lifestyle assessments and driver visions assessments. Tool box talks and poster campaigns have also been used to raise awareness both on site and in offices.
