H4. Healthier Staff Restaurants

Please decribe how you and your caterers have encouraged healthier restaurants/vending outlet/buffets (as applicable) for your staff over the last year. There is a 2000-character limit when completing this section.
Cornwall Council working in partnership with their restaurant provider have achieved the Chefs Award at their headquarters in Truro. The award demonstrates excellent standards of food hygiene, that there are healthy options available for employees and that the provider sources Cornish ingredients where possible.
The aim of the scheme is to:
â€¢ reduce food borne infection
â€¢ reduce levels of obesity/excess weight
â€¢ increase food sustainability
â€¢ increase economic impact of Cornish food industry
â€¢ recognise and reward caterers who adopt and maintain a high degree of food safety and standards as well as offering their customers healthier options/choices on menus.
Cornwall Council provide a wide range of information and guidance for employees who wish to eat more healthily and lose weight.
