H1. Chronic Conditions Guide and Carers

We agreed that we would embed the principles of the Chronic Conditions Guides (developed through the Responsibility Dealâ€™s Health At Work Network) within our procedures to ensure that those with chronic conditions at work are managed in the best way possible with reasonable flexibilities and workplace adjustments.
There are nine steps included in the Companyâ€™s statement and these have been incorporated into Company policies and procedures to ensure that the steps can be implemented in full.
A workplace needs assessment revealed that 20% of employees reported that their day to day activities were limited â€œa littleâ€ by a health problem or disability .This information was used to support action to ensure the workplace supports these individuals through workplace adjustments. A number of staff with chronic conditions have been supported throughout the year through the provision of flexible and home working as well as time off for medical appointment. We are repeating the workplace needs assessment in June 2014 and will develop action to address the needs this identifies
