The vision for Balfour Beatty CSUK is to play an active role in promoting the health and wellbeing of our people and helping to ensure their long-term health. Below are the three interlinked key areas of our Strategy and the progress made:
Workplace focused interventions - Published has been a suite of health procedures and trade specific common standards for Managers, enabling projects to achieve the minimum standards described and work towards best practice.
Occupational health awareness workshops have been designed and piloted for specialist groups within the business, with the aim to increase their awareness of the health hazards in industry and how they can contribute in mitigating health risks throughout the life cycle of the project.
Worker oriented interventions - Healthcare is outsourced to third party providers, delivering comprehensive occupational health services. Services aimed at delivering compliance, monitoring health status and rehabilitating those suffering from ill health or injury back to work.
Wellbeing initiatives - Monthly engaging health promotion events, factsheets and toolbox talks are disseminated across the business, together with access and promotion of Compass, an online platform that provides a variety of employee rewards and benefits.
Engagement with our contractors and supply chain has taken place, through their involvement in our wellbeing initiatives, sharing of information on our Strategy and development of contractual arrangements.
Data on health is being collated and analysed each month and presented to our Executive Leadership Team.
Currently being scoped is the Terms of Reference for a Strategic Health and Wellbeing Leadership group that will meet regularly to monitor and evaluate progress made against our Occupational Health and Wellbeing road map, and collectively approve internal initiatives.
