Network Rail currently reports on employee health and wellbeing through two annual processes: firstly, the Annual Return for the Office of Rail Regulation and, secondly, through the annual Sustainability Update as part of the organisational BITC submission.
Network Rail has a national Occupational Health Service Provider with clearly documented policies and processes. Those employed by the Service Provider meet recognised clinical competency requirements. The Health and Wellbeing Strategy team are currently developing a strategy for improvement of Occupational Health Services, including achievement of SEQOHS accreditation.
Network Rail has a Board approved 10-year health and wellbeing strategy outlining a series of commitments that will enable the delivery of a range of proposed metrics for strategic health performance.
In October 2013, Network Rail wrote to all major contractors and sub-contractors informing them that we had signed up to the Construction and Civil Engineering Responsibility Deal and encouraging them to do the same.
